Skylands Supply

Skylands Supply and Rentals LLC came about as a result of owner, Jim Kopp, deciding to retire from the construction company. Jim saw a tremendous need for a building supply center in this area since the closest one was 24 miles away. The cost of fuel, labor, insurance and so on was making it almost impossible for a contractor to make a living in the Stamford area because he had to travel 2 hours just to purchase a simple board. That inconvenience no longer exits.
 
It took a while to put together a chain of suppliers to service us, but now that the basics are in place, each week the list of suppliers gets longer. Our inventory grows on a weekly basis and we are developing niche markets such as tin shingles to match the ones used in the Catskills a century ago, or simulated asbestos siding like the siding that was used in mid-century America.
 
Our customer base grows on a daily basis and more and more contractors are getting used to us being here.
